Spring Equinox Half Marathon

Spring has arrived on the Front Range and what better way to mark the occasion than running the Equinox Half Marathon on the quiet country roads north of Fort Collins with beautiful views of the still snow covered Rockies.
It's been a while since I ran hard for that long and I was a bit slower than I would have liked (1:37:19), but I am happy with my effort and it was a good race to gauge my current fitness. The race was very well organized with aid stations every two miles and I was glad to see my friends from the Rocky Cross Country Team handing out water and NUUN at miles 4 and 8. The race starts and finishes at The Biergarten @ Anheuser-Busch Brewery where there was a great post race party with burritos, music and beer. This was my first race as a Green Events Ambassador, a role that I am honored to play. Green Events puts on a dozen fun and environmentally friendly running events in Larimer County each year and I am proud to have participated in all of them as a runner or volunteer. Green Events supports youth running programs including High School Cross Country. I am glad to represent Green Events and their commitment to Sustainable Fun in Northern Colorado.
